The use of gold on black on fingerposts seems particularly popular with local councils signing town centres. This example appears to have some sort of printed legend on a sheet metal base, unlike the more traditional painted cast iron. This one also makes heavy use of iconography, which is probably just as well, as the same facilities listed in text form would take up many lines.
